Right from the first notes, I knew I was hooked. It starts it with a big bright in your face guitar that would make Pete Townsend drool. Then, a lean mean driving back beat slips into gear and down the road we go! The very best of what you love about Gene Vincent, Johnny Burnette, The Cramps, The Polecats, Nekromantix and Guana Batz is here in spades. The thumpin' bass, the wild bendy guitar, the percussion that snaps and cracks like a dominatrix havin' a real bad day.

I love everything about this album. Liner artwork, CD art, lyrics, music, everything. Perfect. A wolfabilly goodtime dream through and through. Jonny Wolf, Shewolf Dana Kain and Wolfman Nick Falcon have one of the tightest sounds around. Brother if you can't dig these groovy graveyard romps, get a shovel!

I keep listening to the disc over and over so I can talk about songs that stand out, but every single song on this priceless collection of cemetery stomp is worth its weight in embalming fluid.

The only other time I had this much fun in a pair of headphones, I'd accidentally plugged 'em into a light socket.

What occurs when you mix rockabilly, a shot of whiskey, horror punk, the devil, and garage rock with a damn good party? Well, you get The Young Werewolves of course. ‘Cheat the Devil’ is the second album from this Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based band and its non-stop fun for thirty five solid minutes.

This is my first experience with this band and in all seriousness really the first time I’ve listened to music like this. Having spun this album four times now I’m still drawing a blank when trying to think of comparisons, but parts of this album do remind me of The 5,6,7,8’s. All I know is I need to get this bands first album and also find more bands that play in this style. Everything is quite well done on this album too; great vocals from all three members, competent musicianship, catchy choruses, and one of the most sinister laughs you’ll ever hear, performed by special guest narrator Sid Haig.

Crazy as it sounds, all thirteen songs are winners in my opinion, but in particular I’m enjoying songs 1, 2, 7, 9, and 11 the best. This album is definitely a nice break from all the dark and gloomy stuff I usually play, but funny enough most the lyrics center around horror themes. Horror themes yes, but this is horror in the broad daylight, music to listen to while driving around on a warm summer day with your hair blowing in the wind. I can't wait, screw this damn bitter cold winter! In the end I’ve had plenty of good times with this album and definitely look forward to hearing more or perhaps even one day catching them on stage.
